Steps involved in getting the Irish Work Visa for Accountants

There were 2 steps involved in my relocation process after getting the job.

1st step – Critical skills permit application

This process was done by my employer in Ireland whilst I was still living in Zimbabwe

I received my critical skills permit after 3 weeks from applying.

Required documentation for employment permit

  • Clear color copy of passport data page, including signature
  • Signed copy of employment permit- must be signed by applicant and business
  • Degree Certification with relevant transcripts
  • 1 recent clear passport photo
  • Institute membership certificate
  • Current Resume/CV

2nd step – Visa application

After receiving my critical skills permit, I moved to the visa process.

I submitted my documents to Irish Embassy in Pretoria South Africa.  The Irish Consulate in Zimbabwe was closed.

I received my visa in 5 weeks.

Documents required – entry visa

  • Original passport
  • Summary of online Visa Application
  • Original Employment Permit
  • Letter of Application – letter stating your full contact details & intention to apply for an entry visa
  • Company support letter – letter from your Irish Employer confirming that you are relocating to Ireland to begin employment with them
  • 2 recent passport sized photographs
  • Copy of signed employment contract for new role in Ireland
  • Copies of education transcripts and or certificates
  • Bank statements covering the past six months – no minimum bank balance required

Tips

  1.  You should start gathering documents required for visa application (step 2) whilst you still waiting for your permit (step 1).
  2. You don’t have to submit your documents in person (unless specified) to the Embassy.  Documents can be sent with courier services.
  3. Make sure your passport is valid

Your employer will guide you in the process
